Progressing gender-inclusive midwifery in Aotearoa: Preliminary research findings

Join us this Friday to hear Assoc Prof Suzanne Miller & Prof Sally Baddock (Otago Polytechnic Midwifery lecturers) discuss their Ministry of Health Funded research focusing on the experiences of transgender parents. In this presentation, Suzanne and Sally will discuss their collaborative two phase study, funded by HRC, designed to determine what constitutes quality, safe and culturally responsive maternity services for trans, non-binary, and takatāpui people and whānau, and to identify the education needs of the maternity workforce in Aotearoa New Zealand, to support equitable access and outcomes for this marginalised population. In this presentation Suzanne and Sally will share some preliminary results from phase one: interviews with trans and non-binary people accessing perinatal services and preliminary results from phase two: perinatal workforce survey.
