Master of Applied Management student Xin (Andy) Liu gained hands on industry experience during his internship placement with finance tech company MyRepsoft.
Andy has just completed a 120-hour placement with the company.
His work focused on market and industry research, strategic analysis, and identifying ideal customers and how the company should position itself to attract them.
“This included research and analysis across selected industry directions, as well as the development of a proposed mission, vision, and values framework to support clearer strategic communication,” says Andy.
He says he was grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the project and appreciated the openness and trust shown throughout the placement. Andy also found his classwork directly supported his internship.
“Across two blocks and eight papers, I was repeatedly asked to work with a large number of references, review the same topic through different sources, support my points with evidence, and clearly state limitations.”
He says that process gradually changed the way he approached his work.
“It made me less likely to rely on a quick impression or a single line of thought. Instead, I became more used to checking a topic from different angles, building a view with evidence, and being careful not to push a conclusion further than the information could support.”
Andy says the placement was a valuable step toward his goal of moving into business consulting.
