An Evening of Memory, Authenticity and Home

On Thursday 28 May at 6pm, Bachelor of Culinary Arts Ākonga Geethanjali Praveen invites guests to Manaaki Restaurant for a personal four-course South Indian dining experience. The evening will be a journey through the authentic flavours of Kerala, told through the stories that shaped her as a chef.

For Geethanjali, cooking began not with recipes, but by watching her mother and grandmother move through the kitchen with instinct, patience, and love. Each dish she creates is an extension of those moments: an ode to family, memory, and the people who taught her that food is how stories are kept alive. Reimagined through this menu are the dishes that honour tradition while embracing the richness of Aotearoa’s local produce.

This is more than dinner. It is an invitation into Geethanjali’s world, where manaakitaka, heritage, and emotional connection meet. Guests can expect warmth, nostalgia, and the feeling of being welcomed into a family story, one course at a time.
